Hello, and welcome. I’m a lapsed journalist from the fast dying day when newspapers were produced using newsprint. If you are of a certain age you’ll remember newsprint because it sometimes left ink on your hands.
This blog contains my reflections, observations, opinions and rantings. Pretend you still read a daily newspaper and have folded it to my column. But unlike a newspaper column, these entries also serve me as a sort of public journal, where what I write may be improved in the forge of your comments. Let me know what you think. That’s what the “Contact” item is for over there under the yellow door.

David, I know I can learn a lot from reading your column and I look forward to each post. Your skill with words makes me realize I still have a lot to learn.
I am very excited to read your words again…Its been too long. I have been taking writing classes while trying to get my Masters and I really have been liking it for the first time in my life, writing that is. I think the classes have helped because I just handed in my teaching philosophy and recieved the first ‘A’ on a paper in my college career!
Happy New Year to you.
